On Friday, U.S. district judge Robert Summerhays ordered that the 
Title 42 restrictions stay in place while the lawsuit regarding the policy plays out.
The Biden administration was set to lift the pandemic restrictions on May 23, yet Arizona and Louisiana,
Joined by 22 other states,
Have filed a lawsuit arguing that the administration failed to consider the effects that lifting the restrictions would have on public health and law enforcement.
Individuals have been expelled over 1.9 million times since Title 42 was put in place in March 2020.
