White house rescinds current regional COVID travel bans and imposes vaccination requirement

Presidential proclamation officially rescinds regional travel

Regional COVID Travel Bans. President Biden announced a presidential proclamation, effective November 8, 2021, at 12:01 am (ET), that moves the United States away from country-by-country travel restrictions and adopts an air travel policy that relies primarily on vaccination, with limited exceptions. The White House issued a fact sheet on the new requirements, and DOS released a statement on the matter. White House announced a new policy, expected to start in November 2021, that will require foreign nationals to show proof of full COVID vaccination in order to board a flight to the United States. The requirement will be in addition to the existing COVID testing requirement for all international travelers. The bans will remain in place until officially rescinded, which should occur by early November.
