O-1 Granted for Special Teacher
O-1 approved after receiving an RFE for individual with over 30 years of teaching experience, including 3 years experience in special education, despite very little evidence documenting extraordinary ability. The O-1 visa category applies to foreign nationals who possess extraordinary ability in the field of sciences, arts, education, business, or athletics. To qualify for an O-1 visa, the foreign national must demonstrate extraordinary ability by sustained national or international acclaim. Extraordinary Ability in the field of education means a level of expertise indicating that the person is one of a small percentage who have risen to the very top of the field of endeavor. It is a very high standard, and only the most talented individuals will qualify for an O-1 visa for teachers.
