Initial electronic registration for H-1B. USCIS announced it received enough electronic registrations during the initial registration period to reach the FY2024 H-1B numerical cap allocations, including the advanced degree exemption. They randomly selected from the registrations to reach the cap and has notified all prospective petitioners. USCIS indicates that it has sent notifications to registrant employers and their representatives about selection results. The initial registration period is for a minimum of 14 calendar days each fiscal year. The H-1B selection process is then run on properly submitted electronic registrations. Only those with selected registrations are eligible to file H-1B cap-subject petitions. USCIS saw upward trends in the FY 2022 and FY 2023 H-1B registration periods as well.
