The conversation around Hired Secure Border Initiative has shifted toward technological advancements enabling “smart” or “virtual” border walls. These systems easily integrate data collected by advanced cameras, sensors, biometric identification devices, and other detection systems. Border populations feel insecure. Borders areas in remote parts are getting depopulated. Illegal migrations, which alter demographic ratios, present a major challenge. The smuggling of contrabands, arms and ammunition drugs etc is rampant. Effective border security is an essential part of combating transnational crime. 
Criminals and terrorists often travel using falsified identity documents. We give our member countries access to range of databases against which they can check people, passports and vehicles. Protect the American people, safeguard our borders, and enhance the Nation’s economic prosperity. CBP’s continued success as a threat-based, intelligence and data-driven, operationally focused enterprise absolutely depends on how well we focus on these five Mission Priorities.
