Federal Lawsuit challenges Florida’s new Immigration Law.

Civil Rights and Legal Advocates File Lawsuit Against Florida’s Anti-Immigrant Law

Migrants and advocates filed a federal lawsuit on Monday which challenges part of a new Florida immigration law. Specifically, arguing the law is too vague and will cause “unlawful arrest, prosecution and harassment.” Florida has recently adopted this measure during this spring’s legislative session, imposing penalties on people who transport migrants who “entered the U.S. The lawsuit points out that there is not a definition of “inspected” and is therefore vague. Plaintiffs include the Farmworker Association of Florida, Inc. along with migrant workers and advocates. Migrant workers and advocates filed a federal lawsuit challenging a portion of a new Florida immigration law that criminalizes transporting individuals who enter the country illegally into the state.
