DHS announces registration process for temporary

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced the designation of Afghanistan for Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for 18 months.
Only those who have been residing in the U.S. as of March 15, 2022 will be eligible for TPS.
The TPS designation will protect Afghan nationals who have already been living in the U.S. from having to return to the unsafe conditions in Afghanistan.
Through Operation Allies Welcome, most Afghan nationals who arrived during the Afghanistan evacuation,
Were paroled into the U.S. on a case-by-case basis, for humanitarian reasons, for two years and received work authorization.
These individuals will also be eligible for TPS.
